Dallas Dhu 1979 – 43 Year Old – G&M Private Collection

Closed in 1983, Dallas Dhu is one of the many distilleries which fell victim to changed consumer demand in the 1980s. Fortunately, Gordon & Macphail have a cask or two lurking in their vast warehouses, and they’ve bottled this exceptional single malt as part of their Private Collection – whiskies personally selected by the family which runs the independent bottler. 

Tasting notes from Gordon and Macphail:

Nose; Ripe tropical fruit aromas complement sweet honey and dried banana. Faint floral notes come to the fore alongside vanilla pod and a hint of grapefruit. 

Palate: Rich orange zest flavours combine with butterscotch and brazil nut. Pineapple and mango notes give way to toasted oak. 

Finish: Full and sweet with lemon and faint spice.
