Mount Gay 21 Year Old – PX Sherry Cask Expression

Trudiann Branker, Mount Gay’s first-ever female master blender, is one of the most famous names in rum. For this limited edition bottling she has selected some of the distillery’s oldest pot and column still rums, which were aged in ex-American whiskey casks for two decades, and given them one final year of maturation in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Finishing Mount Gay’s deeply aromatic, fruity Barbados rum in these casks has added aromas of stewed fruits, dark cherry and plum, as well as salted nutty flavours and an extra layer of richness.   

The PX Sherry Cask Expression is the sixth in Mount Gay’s Master Blender Collection and only 4,200 bottles were produced. 

Tasting notes from the distillery: 

Aroma: Maraschino cherry, stewed fruits, charred oak, butterscotch.

Flavour: Red fruits, salted caramel, banana, toasted vanilla, oak with a velvety finish. 

Body: Deep golden hues.
